Foodscapes.Still focusing on miniature worlds, I have researched Carl Warner. Warner is a foodscape photographer who makes landscapes using food. Looking at his work gave me inspiration for my own photo shoot ideas. I then planned and created my own scene, taking some photos to show my understanding of Warner's work and how he had given me inspiration to create my own.
It was a simple but effective shoot. I used many different fruit and vegetables, cutting them up and placing them to create a woodland scene. I also used a light to create shadows and to give it an eerie look. This is still linked to the miniature worlds project, because it looks at the idea of food resembling scenery on a small scale.

First Lesson. The very first lesson I had in photography this term was, the basic controls and how to handle the camera. This was just my introduction lesson.
The next lesson I had was the start of my first project. This was light trails.I was taught how to change the shutter speed and how to actually create a light trail. I also had to do research about Lichtfaktor, they gave me a better understanding of what I was trying to achieve, and it also gave me inspiration. Then over the next few lessons I planned my own shoots and took some photos of my own light trails. After a few lessons of doing that, I then moved on to my next topic(which I am currently still on). The first lesson within this topic was learning about what was meant by aperture, how to use it, and how to correctly set up my camera to achieve this. I also had a chance to practice this skill in the lesson as well. I then planned my first shoot and took some photographs. I used toy soldiers in my photos, to show small people in a big world. I then throughout the last few lessons planned and took multiple photo shoots, improving on my previous shoots. |
